Every year we try so hard to get in all the activities that we want to. But it seems like we get to the end of the week and have not accomplished everything. These are the favorite things though that we spend our time while at the beach:
Josh, Nicholas and Quinten playing Bocci Ball.
Kendall, Sam and Rhaegan also play Bocci ball.
Flying kites has always been a must at the windy beach.
Tom is an expert kite flyer and enjoys teaching the
grandchildren. Here he's helping Rhaegan.
Rhaegan then tries to teach her sister Marlee.
In 2005, Tyson was only three years old when he started
flying kites with us. Here he is being helped by
Uncle Nick. He looks so little.
Now, six years later he can do it all by himself.
The kite was so high in the air I couldn't get
it in the picture.
But of course, he discovered that he could fly the
the kite while laying down. You can barely see
the kite string.
Nicholas helping the girls build their sandcastle.
A ferry ride to Ocracoke Island.
The kids couldn't believe that we could drive
our cars right onto the boat.
Allie tried everything to get through this
hole so she could get into the water.
Scared us all to death.
Tom with 5 of the 6 grandchildren.
While on Ocracoke we ate lunch at a park and
enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Sam decided
he wanted to venture out on the pier alone.
But then the rest of the group decided to join Sam.
We are missing Nicholas, Krista and Josh. They
decided to stay back on Hatteras Island to hang out
at the beach.
A few more pictures will be coming up, stay tuned...

GREAT PICTURES!!! And commentary too! I haven't even looked at any pictures we took yet.
We can't believe the week is over already. But it's really nice to be home in our own beds... with no humidity. :)
We miss you already!!!!
P.S. Paige says the "green house was fun", but she is requesting a "pink house for next year." Ha!!
Thanks Kate. It was sooo much fun with all of you there. We'll have to work on a pink house for Paige. thanks for commenting. Hope you are all recovering.
Looks like lots of fun! We are gearing up for our own road trip family vacation to San Francisco in two weeks, and you're right, and a ton of planning for a trip that's over too quickly.
Had to smile at your reference to pirates and Blackbeard. I read some history a couple of years ago on pirates along the eastern coast in the 1800s or so and boy, they were just awful. Nothing like the cute Halloween costumes or Johnny Depp.
